ABOUT
Everything you need to know about GALERIE BIKINI
THE FOUNDERS
Carole and Guillaume are life partners & are launching BIKINI.

BIKINI?
As its name suggests… is not a brand of swimwear ain. It's a gallery who offers for sale
exclusive 20th century furniture.
THE GENESIS
Carole has been in the fashion industry for 20 years.
Guillaume is a man of materials and of the field who has worked in the recovery of rubber since his birth (or almost).
For Carole,
A love of design comes from its roots:
Le Havre.
She was raised on the stories and striking accounts of her parents (Josine and Pierre) about the reconstruction of her hometown after World War II.

The unique architectures of Auguste Perret and Oscar Niemeyer marked his childhood, thus inviting him, indirectly, to appreciate the modern and functional furniture of the 50s-60s-70s.
It was in 2006 that Carole met her friend and founder of CUBE ROUGE, Jérome GODIN.
It allows him to buy his
first “vintage” pieces and one in particular:
the Wire Chair DKR-2
by Charles & Ray Eames, also known as the Bikini! Here we are…
From that purchase onwards, she would only buy furniture from the 1960s.
40 - 50 - 60 - 70
thanks to him.
Guillaume,
grew up in the heart of an industrial landscape.
This strong and atypical urban landscape fueled his attraction to metal and straight lines. He developed a certain visual rigidity that he expressed through photography.

He initially captured the beauty of industrial buildings, then, in 2010, explored, among other things, that of
La Défense in Paris,
with modern and airy architecture.
His photographs stand out
through a rigor of perspective,
perfect linearity,
an attention to detail,
and the play of light.

His uncompromising nature
and his exacting attention to detail leads him to delve into every anecdote and story about the buildings (architects and designers)
which he photographs over the years.
One fascinated by atypical architectures and details of bygone years, the other captivated by contemporary lines and plays of light, they decided to merge their worlds with GALERIE BIKINI.
Bikini is not simply a gallery
selling vintage furniture.
